21 January Tuesday in Alqosh Farm – 8 Managers, Tri-Team, Şakir, Ghassan and Me
Today Rayan dropped us off from the road and we walked to the field. Mustafa doesn’t open the chickens, he waits for Haliz, the two of them feed the chickens together, arranging portions and some greens. They slowly started turning the compost and we went to the classroom with the managers and started. I changed the layout of the classroom, we hung the board on the wall. So other people can come and use the board while the same people are working at the table. Shleer and Haliz brought a rug where we took off our shoes. So we can clean our socks and get in and out easily. They also brought a tray for the microgreens. These gifts made me very happy. We are really becoming a good team. In these conditions, being able to find a higher ground than monetary relations is very encouraging for life.
Today’s activities was ;
- 4 Compost Turning
- 1 New Compost
- Wood chips dumped on Castor Garden paths (4 wheelbarrows)
- We planted cuttings from Anebel’s garden (250 cuttings)
- We planted 200 Neem trees in the greenhouse.
- We crushed the Castor seeds and extracted the seeds. We will plant more.
- Cleaned all (6) chicken tractors (the leftovers went directly to compost).
- For the seed balls, we crushed the large pieces of clay soil that I had dried in the sun and sifted them through a sieve.
- Two mini greenhouses were built under Diyar’s leadership (the cuttings need moist and warm areas for healthy rooting).
We don’t have enough greenhouses for seedlings and tree saplings, so we need to cover the shade house (nursery) with nylon and turn it into a greenhouse. There is also no more soil for growing new cuttings, Şakir asked for a tractor crate of soil from the place where we bought soil before. Abdurrahman left a little early, his wife was in labor because she had a new baby. We went to the classroom with the rest, evaluated the day and closed it.
See you tomorrow.
