A great team is being born: Alqosh Farm Managers

19 January Sunday in Alqosh Farm – 8 Managers, Tri-Team, Şakir, Ghassan and Me

I started the day very pleasantly this morning. Today we are going one step further with the managers, they are finalizing their departments and starting to manage those departments. I didn’t go to the board and fill in the activities, they told me what to do today. I’m just helping them manage. We talked to each one of them in their area. I explained how it would work. We officially started their management today. 

• Helez took care of the animals
• Luqman takes over the management of the Nursery
• Marwan, Uncle Idrees and Shleer are in charge of the garden together.
• Aya will manage the greenhouse and the caravan.
• Ahmed and Shleer do computer work, Reporting, Communication and Translation.
• Abdulrahman is in charge of logistics, marketing and sales.

In this way, responsibilities were shared, and once the division was clear, everyone quickly took ownership of their part. For lunch, Aya cooked and brought food from home, it was very good. I was very happy. So we decided to cook on the farm once a week and bring it from home once a week. If we achieve this, the food will be healthier for us. And we will spend less.

After lunch we gathered and discussed once more, and then everyone started their daily work. Activities done today;

• Neem tree seed preparation (200pcs) (Aya)
• They filled the pots with soil to grow trees from the cuttings. (Luqman, Abdurrahman, Shleer, Helez)
• Compost application in a pond garden (Marwan, Idrees)
• Wood chipping (Diyar and Shakir’s friend)
• Rosemary propagation (25 pieces) (Diyar)
• Repair of leaking drip water systems (Rayan and Mustafa)
• Everyone’s e-mails were collected.  It was prepared as a document in Drive. (Ahmet and Shleer) 

At 3.30 we gathered in the classroom to wrap up the day. Abdurrahman had a new child, so he brought a box of Turkish delight and a big bag of chips. He divided and distributed them to everyone. Then we slowly dispersed with the manager. After meeting with Istvan, we left the farm with Şakir.
